Performance Assesment dalam Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemahaman Matematik Siswa SMP

The objectiv of this study was to caryy out performance assesment in mathematics learning on problem based learning models and to find out differences in the improvment of student’s mathematical understanding skills who learned to use problem based learning models with student’s learning to use conventional learning. The research design uses the non equivalent control group design, with a population of class VII in Majalengka 1, 2, and 3 Junior high schools. Samples were taken by two classes to be chosen as classes that cary out PBL and classes that cary out conventional learning. The study uses a quasi experimental method with data collection techniques to tesst mathematical understanding abilities and instrumentsto measure student performance. The result of study: 1) the implementation of performance asssesment is carried out in the learning process the taeacher observes students so that students performance in learning mathematics can be seen. The result show that student performance assesment increases during learning from the first meeting to the eighth meeting, 2) there are differences in the improvment of students mathematical understanding ability who learn to use problem based learning model with students learning to use conventional learning
